We Are Here For You.

We all have defining moments in life - times of celebration, challenging circumstances, relational pain, and transitional seasons. How we respond during these times has a direct impact on our future. Our Care Ministry at Waypoint Church provides a network of ministries and classes to find gospel-centered help, hope, and healing.

Care Classes

Care Classes are 8-to-16-week classes on a variety of topics that anyone at Waypoint can participate in. These Care Classes operate in a semester model, opening up for registration twice a year in the Fall and Spring.

Care Mentors are men and women from our congregation who have gone through 150 hours of training to provide one-on-one care and discipleship. Care Mentors are available to meet with people experiencing grief, divorce, loneliness, job loss, disappointment, hospitalization, and many other difficult circumstances. Our team of Care Mentors are waiting to listen, talk, pray, and share biblical truth in love as we look to the scriptures to find hope in a time of despair.

Biblical Counseling

We have trained Biblical Counselors who are eager to share gospel hope to help you navigate difficult life circumstances. We are confident that through the scriptures and the power of His Spirit, God has given us everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3-4). As a part of counseling, our desire is to help you identify how your beliefs, values, and desires (Prov. 4:23; Matt. 6:21; Luke 6:45) express themselves in your emotions, relationships, decision making, and identity. We will encourage you to be involved in the life of our church in a variety of ways as we walk together.

We have a great team of Deacons who serve the church in several ways both publicly and private. All of our Deacons are men who meet the biblical standards laid out in 1 Timothy 3:8-12. These are men who have been ordained by the church and given the opportunity to serve in this role.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our care programming is a combination of mentors, classes, and counselors that are trained to apply biblical truth in some of life's most difficult circumstances.

Premarital Class – SYMBIS

Many couples will spend several hours planning and preparing for a wedding but neglect taking the time to prepare for a strong marriage. Because of this, we offer a class for engaged couples called “Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts.” SYMBIS is a 7-week class or a weekend retreat for engaged couples that addresses seven key questions to help couples identify and overcome stumbling blocks to building a healthy, lifelong, biblical marriage.

Marriage Class – Marriage Oneness

Great marriages don’t just happen. We don’t want you to move from the excitement of being “Just Married” to the mundane “Just Married.” God’s design is for your marriage to thrive. Our 8-week class called Marriage Oneness equips couples to grow in true intimacy, connection, and purpose by looking at biblical principles with application exercises to complete together on date nights. Each couple will be a part of small group discussion covering topics like communication, conflict resolution, spiritual beliefs, money, sexual intimacy, and roles & responsibilities.

Divorce Class – DivorceCare

Healing from divorce can be a long and painful process. DivorceCare is a 13-week recovery class that combines personal study with video seminars in a friendly, caring support group. We will walk with you through one of life’s most difficult experiences. You will learn how to heal from the deep hurt of divorce and discover hope for your future. Don’t go through separation or divorce alone.

Recovery Class – STEPS

Admitting that we are broken and need help isn’t easy. In fact, we often believe we are better than we really are. STEPS is a 14-week recovery and reconciliation ministry where participants will meet for small group discussion and a large group video teaching. During the week, participants will engage in daily reflections and meet with a STEPS mentor for one-on-one discussion, prayer, and encouragement. Don’t buy the lie that you can ‘fix this’ on your own.
